Widespread Unresponsiveness Reported by Samsung Galaxy S23 Users Following One UI 6.1 Update

1 Mins read

Samsung Galaxy users, particularly those with the S23 series, have been voicing their frustrations on platforms like Reddit and the Samsung Community forum. The issues began following the release of the One UI 6.1 update, which was intended to expand the AI capabilities introduced with the Galaxy S24 series to older models, including the S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9 series.

This update was designed to enhance older devices with features like Circle to Search and Generative Edit showcased at Galaxy Unpacked 2024. However, the transition has not been smooth for many, with numerous users reporting that their devices’ touchscreens have become unresponsive.

Some users have found temporary fixes, such as rolling back to the previous 6.0 update or restarting their devices, which seemed to help, especially after allowing apps to fully optimize post-update. However, these are not long-term solutions, and the increasing number of complaints suggests that Samsung may need to release a patch soon.

As of now, it’s unclear how widespread this issue is, but the growing online discourse indicates it is not isolated. We have reached out to Samsung for comment and will update this article with any new information.
