Samsung has just unveiled its latest earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, featuring a design similar to Apple’s AirPods. These new buds come with advanced features and are available for preorder now, shipping on or after July 24. Preorders before July 23 include a free case.
Design and Pricing of Samsung’s New Galaxy Buds 3
Galaxy Buds 3: Priced at $180, these open-style earbuds resemble standard AirPods. They are available in white or silver and are designed for comfort in various noise environments. The case includes a lid and LED lights.
Galaxy Buds 3 Pro: At $250, the Pro model features a canal design for total audio immersion and also comes in white or silver. These earbuds include small, medium, and large ear tips for a customized fit.
Key Features of Samsung Galaxy Buds 3
Interpreter Mode: This feature translates foreign languages directly into your ears, ideal for students or travelers. It is available when the earbuds are connected to a Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Voice Command: Allows hands-free control of music playback, enabling users to play, pause, or skip tracks without touching the earbuds or phone.
Enhanced Audio: The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro includes advanced two-way speakers and planar magnetic tweeters for superior sound quality. These features deliver clearer highs and better bass compared to previous models.
Performance and Battery Life of Samsung Galaxy Buds 3
Galaxy Buds 3: These earbuds have a single 11mm dynamic driver and are rated for up to 6 hours of battery life with ANC off and 5 hours with it on. The case supports wireless charging and has a Bluetooth pairing button. Both models are IP57 water and dust-resistant and support Bluetooth 5.4 and LE audio.
Galaxy Buds 3 Pro: The Pro model has a 10mm dynamic driver and planar tweeter, offering up to 7 hours of battery life with ANC off and 6 hours with it on. The case also includes wireless charging and a Bluetooth pairing button.
Special Features for Galaxy Users:
Both models offer automatic pairing and audio switching with Galaxy devices, including PCs, thanks to multipoint Bluetooth pairing. They also support the Samsung Seamless Codec for high-resolution audio streams.
The Interpreter feature, part of Galaxy AI, is another exclusive, allowing real-time language translation when connected to compatible Galaxy devices.
First Impressions of Samsung Galaxy Buds 3
While the new Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro follow a more generic design, they are likely to fit more users comfortably compared to previous models. The improved fit and advanced features aim to justify their premium pricing, which competes with Apple’s AirPods Pro 2.
In my initial tests, the Buds 3 Pro impressed me with their treble clarity and bass definition, sounding better than the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. However, a full review is needed to compare them comprehensively with other top true-wireless earbuds.
