Netflix K-Drama “The Frog” Impresses with a Gripping Second Half

1 Mins read

The Frog, Netflix’s latest thriller K-drama directed by Mo Wan-il, delivers a compelling narrative despite a slow start. Starring Kim Yoon-Seok, Yoon Kye-sang, and Go Min-si, the series uses the metaphor of a “frog hit by a stone” to explore the unforeseen consequences of one person’s actions.

The show begins with a sluggish pace, but picks up significantly from Episode 4, with the latter episodes—particularly 6 through 8—offering intense and gripping storytelling. The eight-episode series weaves between the early 2000s and 2020s, eventually connecting two seemingly unrelated storylines.

The Frog addresses pressing social issues in South Korea, including flaws in the criminal justice system and the abuse of power. While it has some plot inconsistencies, the strong performances and engaging second half make it worth watching. The series is now streaming globally on Netflix.
