Display and Design of Pixel 9 Pro Fold

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold features the largest inner display ever seen on a mobile device, offering an expansive screen experience within a remarkably thin and durable form factor. The Super Actua Flex display is 80% brighter than its predecessor, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright conditions. The foldable design includes a fluid-friction hinge that allows the phone to open fully flat, providing a seamless transition between folded and unfolded modes.

In terms of durability, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is equipped with scratch-resistant Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2 and carries an IPX8 rating, meaning it can withstand submersion in water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes.

Performance and AI Capabilities

Under the hood, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chip, which enhances the phone’s performance and efficiency. This processor allows for smooth multitasking, especially with the device’s large inner display. Users can split-screen apps, drag and drop photos, and utilize Dual Screen with Google Meet, where you can show both your face and the content you’re viewing.

The phone also includes several AI-driven features that enhance the user experience. These include Pixel Screenshots, Pixel Studio, Circle to Search, Summarize, and Gemini, which are designed to make tasks quicker and more intuitive.

Camera System

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold boasts an ultra-thin advanced triple rear camera system, offering the best camera quality available on a foldable phone. It includes an upgraded ultrawide camera with Macro Focus capabilities and enhanced Face Unlock on both front cameras, whether the device is folded or unfolded.

A new camera feature called Made You Look is perfect for capturing photos of kids. This feature displays an animation on the outer screen to grab their attention, making it easier to capture a smile.

Entertainment and Gaming

For entertainment, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is designed with updated aspect ratios and a larger screen size, making it ideal for media consumption. The phone supports multiview on YouTube TV, allowing you to watch up to four events at once on the large inner display.

Gaming is also optimized on this device. Google has collaborated with game developers to enhance the gaming experience for titles like Asphalt Unite and Disney Speedstorm, especially in tabletop mode. Other games, including Minecraft and Candy Crush Soda Saga, have been optimized for the foldable’s large screen, with more updates expected later this year.

Pricing and Availability

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be available in two colors, Porcelain and Obsidian. Pricing starts at $1,799 for the base model, with higher storage options available at additional costs. The device is currently available for pre-order, with a release date set for September 4. You can check the Google Store for availability in different regions and sign up for product updates.
