Nintendo has just introduced its own first-party Joy-Con controller charging station, scheduled for release on October 17. This new accessory is a game-changer for couch co-op enthusiasts, allowing two Joy-Cons to charge on the dock while another two can charge via the console simultaneously. Additionally, it integrates with Nintendo’s retro wireless NES gamepads, used for Nintendo Switch Online games.
The Joy-Con Charging Stand (Two-Way) connects to the Switch’s dock through a USB-C port or any other power adapter. For added portability, the vertical support can be detached, making it easier to carry for gaming on the go. Although pricing details are not yet available, the charging station will launch in the US, Europe, and Japan. It coincides with the release of Super Mario Party Jamboree, creating perfect timing for enhanced multiplayer fun.
This announcement comes over seven years after the original launch of the Nintendo Switch. While the accessory might have been more useful earlier, it still provides a valuable addition for players today. The Switch 2, or whatever the next console will be called, is anticipated to arrive early next year.
