Google Unveils 4 Exciting Updates for Samsung Devices at Galaxy Unpacked

2 Mins read

At the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, Google announced four significant updates coming to Samsung’s latest devices, including the Galaxy Z Flip6, Z Fold6, and the newest Galaxy Watches. Here’s what to expect from these exciting new features.

Google Updates for Samsung Devices at Galaxy Unpacked

1. Get Suggestions from Gemini Based on What’s on Your Screen

The Gemini app on Android provides a personal AI assistant right on your phone. With this app, users can easily learn about the world, find the right words, and generate images.

Integrated deeply with Google apps, Gemini can help you take action across Gmail, Docs, Maps, Drive, and more. On the new Galaxy Z series, Gemini will soon offer relevant suggestions based on your screen content.

By swiping the corner of the screen or saying “Hey Google,” you can bring up Gemini. For instance, while watching a YouTube video, the suggestion “Ask about this video” will appear.

The large screen of the Galaxy Z Fold6 is particularly useful for multitasking, allowing you to use Gemini in a split-screen experience. The Gemini app is currently available in 29 languages in over 200 countries, and these updates will roll out in the coming months.

2. Circle to Search on the New Galaxy Z Series

Circle to Search, an easy way to search on your Android device without switching apps, was announced earlier this year. This feature now includes translation capabilities and homework help for various physics and math problems.

Starting later this month, Circle to Search will also help you understand more complex topics like symbolic math and scan barcodes and QRcodes on your screen.

Supported on tablets and foldable devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6, Circle to Search will extend to more Samsung devices later this year.

3. Try Wear OS 5 on the New Galaxy Watches

Wear OS 5, introduced at Google I/O, improves performance and battery life. Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch lineup, including the Watch Ultra and Watch7, will be the first smartwatches powered by Wear OS 5.

These smartwatches offer advanced health monitoring capabilities such as heart rate tracking and sleep monitoring, providing a personalized health experience. They also give users access to a wide range of apps on Google Play, making them perfect companions for those on the go.

4. Watch YouTube TV in Multiview

YouTube TV subscribers using the Galaxy Z Fold6 will soon be able to watch in Multiview, enjoying up to four different streams simultaneously. Users can choose from pre-selected combinations like football, news, weather, and simultaneous sporting events.

Google continues to collaborate with Samsung to bring the latest updates to Galaxy products, from smartphones and wearables to future technologies like the upcoming XR platform. These new features aim to enhance the user experience, making Samsung devices more versatile and user-friendly.
